I know infinity.
I see it linger
at every tip,
at every edge.
I have seen it climb
and fall,
rise and
descend.
I have seen it mark beginnings,
I have seen it marking ends.
But still it flows,
yet does not ebb;
but flows:
on-and-on like a war without a cause,
birth and death all at once.
One courageous wave,
biting into the flesh and never letting go.

Sunday, wake up, give me a cigarette.
Last night's love affair is looking vulnerable in my bed
Silk sheet, blue dawn, Colgate, tongue warm
Won't you quit your crying? I can't sleep
One minute I'm a little sweetheart
And next minute you are an absolute creep
We've got obsessions
I want to wipe out all the sad ideas that come to me when I am holding you
We've got obsessions
All you ever think about are sick ideas involving me, involving you
Supermarket, what packet of crackers to pick?
They're all the same, one brand, one name, but really they're not
Look, look, just choose something quick
People are staring, time to come quick in (?)
Cheeks are on fire; just choose something, something, something
Pressure overwhelming
Next minute I am turning out of the door, facing one week without food
A day, a day when things are pretty bad
Don't let it make you feel sad, the crackers were probably bad luck anyway
Can't let your cold heart be free
When you act like you've got an OCD
We've got obsessions
I want to erase every nasty thought that bugs me every day of every week
We've got obsessions
You never tell me what it is that makes you strong and what it is that makes you weak.
We've got obsessions
I want to erase every nasty thought that bugs me every day of every week.
We've got obsessions
You never told me what it was that made you strong and what it was that made you weak
Makes you weak, makes you weak, make you weak, make you weak, make you weak

Prose
Today has been a day I wish I smoked.
I imagine sitting on the frame of my back door as if it was a step and inhaling, and exhaling, anything but oxygen and CO2, inhaling, and exhaling, anything but the day I've had.
---
The sky wasn't mad at me. It just opened up like an eye that had never seen daylight, with a crimson glow in its pupil and a wince like a child preparing itself for tears. And there wasn't a cloud around. None. I'd have offered it up a giant man-made pillowy precipitation device in which it could find relief if I had the length in me. But all I could do was stare at it or look away, because I was too small to do anything about a sky that wasn't yet crying.
---
She looked at me like someone else's child. I wasn't home to her. I wasn't home. She kissed me on the cheek, presented me with the reward I hadn't fought for, and turned her back as if she was showing me the hair she'd worked hours on, or the dress she'd worked months to fit so well. I knew I would hold the image of her figure and the way her hair followed it until I met ___.
---
Back home there'd be an empty sink and a made pie beside it, a note from my mother reading: "I made your favourite, xo" and the cartoons section from my father's broadsheet newspaper. I don't know why I thought the room in which I grew was too small for me now that I'd grown. It grew with me; all the posters now went from ceiling to skirting board, and the floorboards to the left of my bed were worn in two little patches where my feet had stretched for my slippers each morning, just as the underneath of my childhood soft toy's ears had. There was no reason

A Letter From God to Man (Dans Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip)
Hey There, how, how’s it going?
Long time no see.
I know I haven’t been around much lately
But…it didn’t seem like you wanted me to be
The last time I sent down a message you nailed it to the cross
So I figured I’d just leave you to it, let you be your own boss
But I’ve been keeping an eye on you, I have, and it’s amazing how you’ve grown.
With your technological advances and the problems you’ve overthrown,
And all the beautiful art you’ve created with such grace and such finesse,
But I admit there are a few things I’m afraid have impressed me less.
So I’m writing to apologize for all the horrors committed in my name,
Although that was never what I intended, I feel I should take my share of the blame.
All the good I tried to do was corrupted when all the religion got into full swing,
What I thought were quite clear messages were taken to unusual extremes.
My teachings taken out of context to meet the agendas of others,
Interpretations taken to many different ways and hidden meanings discovered
Religion became a tool, for the weak to control the strong
With all these new morals and ethics, survival of the fittest was gone
No longer could the biggest man simply take whatever he needed
‘cause damnation was the price if certain rules were not heeded
Some of the deeds committed in my name just made me wonder were I went wrong.
Back at the start when I created this, the foundation seemed so strong.
See all the elements were already here, long before I began, I just kind of put it all together
I didn’t really think out a long-term plan.
I made the sun an appropriate distance and laid the stars across the sky
So you could navigate the globe or simply watch the sun rise
I covered the earth with plants and fruits,
Some for sustenance and some for beauty
I made the sun shine and the clouds rain so their maintenance wasn’t your duty
I tried to give each creature its own attributes without making them enveloped
I gave you all you all your own space to grow and in your own way space to develop
I didn’t know such development would cause rifts and jealousy
Cause you to war against each other and leave marks on this planet indelibly
You see, I wasn’t really the creater, I was just the curator of nature
I want to get something straight with homosexuals right now: I don’t hate ya
I was a simple being that happened to be the first to wield such powers
I just laid the ground, it was You that built the towers
It was You that invented bombs, and the fear that comes with them
And it was You that invented money, and the corrupt economic systems
You invented terms like just-war and terms like friendly fire
And it was You that didn’t know when to stop digging deeper, when to stop building higher
It was You that exhausted the resources I carefully laid out on this earth,
And it was You that even saw these problems coming but accredited them little worth
It was You that used my teachings for your own personal gain
And it was You that committed such tragedies, even though they were in my name
So I apologize for any mistakes I made, and when my words misconstrued
But this apology’s to mother nature, cause I created YOU.
